In this edition of the Affiliate Buzz audio newsletter, James Martell, successful publisher, speaker and author talks with host Charles Johnston about how to recognize top performing merchants, 6 points affiliates should look for on a merchant’s website, and gathering quality content for your site while enjoying events of your interest.

James talks with Charles about his plans to bring along his digital camera as he heads down to the ShareASale Think Tank and will just have a blast.  He has an opportunity to meet many merchants in the kit car industry and take pictures of a huge variety of cars.  In all his fun and excitement James points out the added benefit of gathering content and merchants for his new site.

James and Charles talk about his trip down to Phoenix for the ShareASale think tank.  He and his wife Arlene headed out on a Friday afternoon and flew over the Grand Canyon for a spectacular first time view.  After they arrived to Scottsdale the arrived at the hotel in a Lincoln and walked to the back lobby.  The lobby was set up with a full reception in a beautiful facility surrounded by golf courses and palm trees.

James shares some of the topics covered at the think tank.  He tells listeners that the top 10 merchants and some of there top publishers gathered together in a conference room and evaluated the merchants’ sites.  He shares that one merchant had attended the think tank last year, took the advice he got from the publishers and came back with an absolutely amazing site. James talks with Charles about his recent venture of taking his long standing hobby and passion and turning it into an affiliate site.  He has really been enjoying working on this site over the past month as he has been putting it together and has even enjoyed researching affiliate programs.  He talks about his last week of work being only content, adding photos and adding kit car clubs to the kit car section.  James and his son Justin have been enjoying their work with this site and are just amazed that they are getting paid to do it.
