In this edition of the Affiliate Buzz audio newsletter, James Martell, successful publisher, speaker and author talks with host Charles Johnston about choosing your merchants when building a successful online business, wetting focused goals and submitting your sites to search engines.

James and Charles discuss the Martell’s plans for the coming spring including a cruise for March 2005 on a Princess cruise heading out of Fort Lauderdale Florida for a 10 day cruise. They plan to head down 10 days early and take in a tour of Florida including Disney World and the Kennedy Space Center.

James and Charles discuss one important step in building a successful business is the evaluation of choosing your merchants first. James shares that knowing you can have 4 or 5 good paying merchants helps you to succeed with your affiliate business. Then James shares how he has brought in different people and taught them the key parts of the business so they can take over those aspects of his business for him.

James discusses with Charles an email from Dave who shares his many struggles to get his business off the ground. He shares that his success came from very focused goals and sticking to them. James shares that in the beginning he set his goal at $200 a day and set his mind to making it happen.

James discusses with Charles the changes that are taking place at Yahoo in regards to how they receive their search results. He explains how to get your site indexed into Yahoo and where to find more information.

James and Charles talk about dream building and the idea behind this concept. James tells listeners that Hubert Humphrey told him to spend an hour a week just thinking about what he wants to do. James shares that each week on Sunday he heads down to a local pub with a pen and a notepad and writes down what he wants to get done and how he can do it. James asks Charles a series of questions to get his mind thinking about building his dreams if he was successfully working online.
