In this edition of the Affiliate Buzz audio newsletter, James Martell, successful publisher, speaker and author talks with host Charles Johnston about the launch of the Martell Newsletter, his new documentary style video, tips on setting up a chat forum and meeting up with students at Affiliate Summit.

James and Charles talk about the launch of the new Martell Newsletter; which will contain roughly 5 articles each week discussing different challenges and plans of building websites as well as topics around what it is like to build a website.  Some of the articles that will be covered include this most recent trip down to Affiliate Summit and some of the fun events that occurred this year.

James and Charles talk about his oldest daughter Shelby’s new car. James shares that she has saved her pennies got some money saved up in the bank. He then tells about her trials when she first went down to buy a used car, where she was waiting for her loan approval and the car was sold under her. He tells listeners that Shelby’s dream came true when grandma called up and offered to give Shelby her Miata.

James and Charles talk about the new chat forum on KitCarConnection.com. James shares what steps he went through to find a nice piece of software similar to FFCobra.com and where he found it. He shares with listeners that for the most part the software is free and tells listeners that he selected phpBB software and integrated it into his Drupal account. He talks about posting get it installed and discusses the process of selecting and working with the programmer in the RentaCoder system.

James talks with Charles about the process of mapping out the categories for the new forum. Then he talks about setting up the look and feel so it will match the rest of the site. He has hired Vaughan at KillerCovers.com to assist with the look and feel and shares with listeners the monetization opportunities in having this forum up and running for his visitors. Then he discusses the process of finding and hiring a moderator for the forum to keep things running smoothly. They talk about outsourcing through Elance for this type of work.

Then James and Charles talk about the recent trip up to Affiliate Summit and the feedback he receives after returning home. He shares that while there, he makes it a point to not give out his card too often because you can be sure that if you give your card to a merchant they WILL be contacting you. He talks about meeting up with students and members of the BootCamp site and how everyone is uploading and sharing photos of the event.
