Thanks for this. I just started a test of outsource services to see their results on new sites. This strategy is a good one I had not considered.

I have a very small niche that there are no sites to build links from. Yes, I’ve researched. There are none with similiar content or interests.

Your thoughts on building my own link wheel-blogs. I can create a lot of unique content targeting my industry. So the content will be there and I know it will bring some additional buyers.

I am on page 1 for my primary 3 keywords. But need to get to #1. It would increase my visits by 50%.

I have checked the links of my competition. Most junk and paid links. All low value. So I’m at a quandry.

I have optimized my on site SEO using SEO tools for comparison to my competition.

    Link Wheel?

    Thanks

    Don

    • Hi Don,

The problem with building your own link wheel-blogs is that Google will more than likely discover you own the sites. It was a common practice years ago but Google put the kibosh so they had to figure how to stop it and did.

As for not being able to find suitable sites. You want to rethink that. There are always thousands of sites to choose from no matter what the topic. You just need to widen your topic search.

      A quick example.

I needed to link back to a car insurance quotes site. I decided to have articles written about teen driver safety. It was easy with a little creativity to legitimately work the links into the articles. The article also had nothing to do with car insurance, other than we quoted some statistics from GEICO.com about teens and crashes. We also mentioned that overall car operating costs is something teen drives need to be made aware of — fuel, car maintenance and repairs and of course car insurance.

I easily had all ten articles published on some mommy bloggers sites. Also note; They were NOT published on insurance or industry related sites. They don’t need to be. They are good articles written for the mommy bloggers audience written on a topic of interest to them.

Keep in mind you are not writing self-promotional articles. You are writing for someone else’s audience.

I would suggest that you should find sites that you can guest blog on. There are all kinds of them.
