Welcome to another edition of The Affiliate Buzz, where affiliate marketers come to be inspired, informed and motivated to succeed. Arlene is away this week, but James is joined by entrepreneur, author and consultant, Michelle Held.

Michelle earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute back in the day when a college only had one computer – a mainframe. Her professors told her that she wasn’t getting enough computer experience. How could she? They didn’t have any computers for her to get experience on. But once she got the chance, Michelle quickly became a convert a pioneer of digital marketing. Today, Michelle is a video partner /vlogger with Entrepreneur Magazine’s YouTube channel, Entrepreneur Network. She is the author of “Pinterest Tutorial” and the upcoming “Build Your Business Presence Online.” Michelle serves as a consultant on topics such as digital marketing, project management, search engine optimization and social media marketing.

As a speaker, she conducts seminars and training sessions on social media and web technologies. Michelle was a featured speaker at the NY NOW Gift Show, Pubcon the South Florida Marketer’s Association, and Affiliate Summit West.

Where should I be? What should I post? How do I know if it’s a good use of my time?

James and Michelle reflect on the fact that many of us have a love/hate relationship with social media. Some platforms are friendlier than others, but they all serve a purpose.
