Discover What it Takes to Win with Affiliate Marketing and How to Position Yourself with Merchants

In this edition of the Affiliate Buzz audio newsletter, James Martell, successful publisher, speaker and author talks with host Charles Johnston about CJU, how television advertisers are looking towards the internet advertise, positioning yourself with merchants and what it takes to win.

James and Charles talk about heading down to Santa Barbara for CJU. They headed out a couple days early to catch a Seattle Mariners game and then headed down to Santa Barbara. Then they discuss the party at the Santa Barbara Brewing Company on the Saturday night before the event kicked off.

James discusses that there was a full day of networking on Monday at the CJU event. James tells listeners that the networking actually began on the Sunday evening party with an open bar. James shares an amazing talk during the first event on the first day in regards to advertising and how it is changing the industry. Then James shares what he learned while attending one of the labs from the advertisers point of view.

James shares that one of the most valuable parts of attending these events is being able to meet up with other people and get to know one another. James then shares how CJ has made some changes to their affiliate links and now offer the ability to encrypt your links for protection. In addition he shares a data feed option and explains to you in detail what this is and how it works. James shares the legitimate way to use these feeds and the wrong way.

James and Charles wrap up this edition of the buzz by sharing something Lisa, client development at CJU, shared this year at the event. She shared what it takes to win in the industry and one common statement she hears is, “I’ll believe it when I see it.” Lisa shares her view is, “You’ll see it when you believe it.”
