SUPER BootCamp Member Dan Maynard Talks About His “Piano Site” And How He’s Gained And Maintained Top Rankings At Google For Nearly 1,000 Targeted Keywords
Hi my name is Dan Maynard and I’m here to provide you with some insight into my PAD technique (the process of creating articles and sending to selected webmasters) and its impact on my piano lessons page within the Google search results.
The PAD technique was mastered by none other than James Martell who has faithfully taught his students how to use this technique to enhance their listings in the search engine results, particular Google. James has provided me with a gracious opportunity to talk about the PAD technique and how that has impacted sales on my piano site, mainly www.piano-keyboard-reviews.com. My site has maintained top rank for the past 3 to 4 years for approximately 1,000 keyword phrases on Google. These phrases included long tail keyword phrases as well as some of the piano industry’s most sought after and competitive phrases.
I really became interested in targeting piano lessons following a phone call I had received from Matt McWilliams of Legacy Learning Systems. As the affiliate manager at Legacy, Matt strived to find new affiliates to market his piano lessons course, Learn and Master Piano. Matt was quite eager to bring me on board as an affiliate. But I was very cautious as I had already tried to sell other piano lesson courses but had sold very few. However, Matt had convinced me that his piano course would sell quite well and that it practically sold itself! So I decided to review the product online and was amazed at the quality of the product packaging and of some of the sample videos. the product exuded quality just by looking at it. I was convinced that this product could do well on my piano site. But how did this all come about? Read on.
Matt McWilliams met James Martell at the ShareASale Think Tank conference last year and if serendipity was to play a role, it did on this occasion as Matt met James Martell and Matt explained his need to find qualified affiliates to peddle his piano lessons product. At which point James pointed Matt to me and my keyboard site.
After Matt reviewed Dan Maynard’s piano site Matt sent me an e-mail requesting an opportunity to talk with me. I was somewhat intrigued by Matt’s e-mail and decided yes that I would explore the opportunity of selling 30 master piano. Matt McWilliams give me a call one day and we spent a good one hour and a half on the phone at which point a relate the product that he had to offer you.
I had learned from experience that one of the key ingredients of successful online sales, is that the product must be perceived as having quality attributes, which the Legacy Learning packaged definitely exuded. The Master Piano DVD set certainly looked like it was made of high quality materials in every respect. While quality is a definite attribute that I look for, the other and evenly more important element was that of the affiliate manager. I’ve learned that the affiliate manager has to be very approachable and accessible to affiliates as well as have a desire and passion to service its affiliates. Following my discussion with Matt it was very apparent that he was very approachable and had a desire to help affiliates succeed. To me, these were the attributes that I sought that would compel me to seriously consider marketing the Legacy Learning System product.
Matt McWilliams literally created my banner advertising, product page copy and even provide a discount coupon exclusive to visitors to my site as well as a landing page on the merchant site that was tied to my exclusive coupon. Given that level support from Matt really helped me to conclusively accept his offer to become an affiliate.
My interest in selling piano lessons is spurred by the fact that piano lessons is searched on Google over a 500K times per month and long tail phrases like free piano lessons feature high volume searches, and seemingly easy to rank for. I thought it would really have a good chance of obtaining a high ranking in Google using the PAD technique — and how could I lose when I had at my disposal a ready and fully supportive affiliate manager looking over my shoulder as well as my good friend James Martell spreading his SEO wisdom.
After sending out over half a dozen PAD articles with tightly woven theme and relevant anchor text in my articles, I was convinced that I could achieve success in the search results. I did indeed start to achieve higher rankings for some long tail keyword phrases related to piano lessons.
Although I have not achieved page 1 ranking as of late, I know I most assuredly will achieve success with a pinch of PAD and a pinch of patience.
