Coffee Talk Interview #2 – Learn Why Promoting Hosting May be Right For You and How 1&1, the World’s Largest Web Host Company Motivates and Rewards It’s Top Affiliates!

Coffee Talk with Joshua Sloan from 1&1 Hosting.com

Coffee Talk listeners don’t want to miss this one! James chats one-on-one with 1&1 Director of Online Marketing Joshua Sloan about the world’s largest web hosting company. James even gets Joshua to share with listeners what he likes to see on affiliate’s pages, providing listeners with some sure-fire tips.

As you are about to learn, James and Joshua originally met at CJU in May 2005, and have stayed in close contact since. In fact, they recently flew together to Germany, where James was treated to a tour of 1&1′s data center. From there, the two flew with 1&1′s top affiliate partners (three from the US, three from the UK, 10 from Germany and three from France) to Valencia Spain to watch the America’s Cup race on a spectator boat from the Mediterranean Sea.

These top affiliates received this all expense-paid trip and were wined and dined around-the-clock for four days by 1&1 for their outstanding performance as an affiliate partner. Listen now as Joshua explains how you can set your own sites on similar prizes, from the “fair to midland” to the “exotic and exciting,” as he puts is.

And if you’re interested in offering hosting programs on your website, or in the event you already do, Joshua explains to James exactly what you can do to increase your conversions.

“The top affiliates don’t start at the top,” he says. To get there, he recommends affiliates choose topics they are passionate about and that they provide well-researched, well-written content that is valuable to their site’s visitors.

For 1&1 affiliates, Joshua wisely advises using content about the hosting programs that 1&1 provides, along with insight and information about your own experiences with the program, how much it costs (for instance, you want to have that 1&1 makes domain names available starting for just $5.99).

In short, he recommends that you think like a visitor to your site and provide them with everything they will want to know about your topic of choice.

And, don’t stop there. Provide your visitors with what Joshua calls “longer copy,” giving them the information they need to choose from your offers, as well as supporting information and articles they are sure to help you close the deal.

If hosting is your topic of choice, Joshua suggests providing content about relevant topics like storage, bandwidth, add-on tools, etc.

“Believe in what you promote,” he emphasizes.

To hear the other advice Joshua has for affiliates, both 1&1 affiliate partners and affiliates who partner with other businesses (hosting and non-hosting), listen now to this exciting conversation.
