A Coffee Talk first, James sits down with his own business developer, Phil Watkins, and super affiliate Brent Truitt, for a look at what it takes to achieve success — online and off. In this candid discussion, the three pinpoint exactly what it took for Brent to climb out of living “well below the poverty level” to enjoying an income of more than $12,000 every month!
They also talk about how they all know each other and prove to listeners that, even in this age of technology, we live in a very small world.
Brent TruittBrent tells listeners about the importance of finding a credible mentor, which he did in James, and how to stay focused and not give up on dreams, despite adversity. Having overcome insurmountable odds himself, Brent also discusses the importance of staying humble and being able to listen to others.
His formula for achieving his outstanding success, as he tells James and Phil, is this: Follow James handbook, get the first site or two up, and then repeat the process.
“It’s nothing fancy,” he tells Coffee Talk listeners. “Once you figure it out, it’s all the same. Just don’t veer off the path.”
Not only does Brent share information about his topics (which we all know is very rare), he also shares some of his own secrets, tips and techniques in this Coffee Talk discussion, including how long it took him to make his first $500.
What inspired Brent and kept him chipping away at his goal of becoming a super affiliate? First, it was the video of James, Arlene and the kids at Disneyland and then it was an unwavering commitment to work for himself. As he says, he just wasn’t ever going to “work for the man” again.

Hi James. I just wanted to post a quick comment thanking you, Phil and Brent for an awesome and inspiring coffee talk interview. As a musician myself (guitar) and a novice affiliate marketer, I felt like I was listening to myself. It would appear that Brent and I share the same mindset when someone tells us that we cannot do something, or to not try. That’s usually my cue to take it all the way to the bank…:)
