Help Desk
Hi, it’s Arlene Martell here.
If you have a question, comment or need assistance of any kind please don’t hesitate to email, call, or send me a Tweet, which incidentally is often the fastest way to reach me.
I typically answer most calls and emails Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (Pacific Time), however because my office is in my home if the phone rings after hours I do try to pick it up. I also check voicemail messages and emails on weekends – so if I miss your call, please don’t worry, I promise to get back to you promptly.

Hi Arlene, I have bought from you guys before and am a good mate of Ed Keay Smiths in Australia. I would like to schedule a discussion with James to see if there is a fit for some coaching. I am in the middle/early stage of developing a membership/community site targeting Retaliers, my speciality. You have done it all before and I get bogged down on the technology and specific how to’s. I’m looking for hard and specific advice about HOW TO do a lot of the setup easily so I can get to the content creation. Can we have a quick chat to see if it’s a fit.

Andy
Hi Andy, thanks for stopping by. It’s always nice to hear from a mate of Ed’s. I love that word mate.
And it’ll be great to chat with you about your project. I do love memberships sites. They are a great business model. I’ll have Arlene coordinate a time for us to talk first thing next week.

Hi Arlene
I just saw James’ interesting new offer. Although I really can’t afford it, I thought I’d drop you this to say the idea is good; I’d benefit from it greatly no doubt. However…
What I really need or could use is someone to take a good overall look at where I’m at, what I’ve done, and what needs catching up on with the site; plus answering questions I might have on ‘how-to’ do this or that in relation to any of the content in the daily traffic videos I’m behind on. I know this would be tremendously helpful in addition to the coaching we receive weekly, the info in the DTV’s, and in the forum.
THAT would be of huge assistance to me…although I’m not sure what if any format might be available for delivering that. I know how incredibly busy James and all of you are. Also not sure if that level of assistance could be realistically delivered or accomplished within the limits of 8 weekly half-hour sessions…even if I could afford it.
I do definitely feel the need for more ‘something.’ I have far too many unanswered ‘day-to-day’ operational questions, ‘how-to’ and so forth, that are sometimes answered in the forum, sometimes not. The weekly sessions have been wonderful, better and better, but again the time is brief and of course James cannot focus on any one of us exclusively…although he’s done amazingly well, using my article lately as a group teaching tool and so forth…which is very greatly appreciated. And I’m doing my best to apply those lessons daily.
But more “one on one” would be extremely helpful. I wonder if a Site Critique of welders360 might be nearly as helpful for me at this point? Again I’m not sure. Just food for thought on that one.
On the other hand if James really thinks he could deliver an overall examination of where I’m at, what I’m lacking, and how to get it all caught up and plugged in within that time frame…or within the limits of this offer in other words…let me know. I’ll have to take a careful look at that.
One way or the other I’m definitely in this for success…but the faster I can begin to see real profitability…the sooner I can stabilize and continue to build. Right now it’s all money going out where the site is concerned…and that certainly cannot continue indefinitely. So I’ll consider every truly worthwhile strategy very carefully.
Many thanks
Michael Firstman

I know this is an old post, but I thought I’d reply anyway. It’s a tricky situation at times – when your business is barely breaking even and everything you make is reinvested into the business. It can be grueling for month after month, working 70 hour weeks and barely seeing any profit. Some people take a risk too early, and end up losing everything.
Patience is a great virtue to have in business, but of course, you also need to take opportunities when they come.
Dear Arlene:
I’m responding to James’ offer of coaching. I have a client website I’m starting the project of revamping altogether so that it is more navigationally intuitive, as well as starting the KY research from scratch to determine what to optimize it for so that it gets more traffic. It is a local cosmetic dentist’s site. I’m wondering if James’ coaching would help.
PS. I met you and James at a small Ken McCarthy seminar in Chicago in November of 08 and was inspired by both of you.
Hi Martha, great to hear from you.
Sounds like an interesting project. I’ll have Arlene contact you if I may to set-up with a time for us to chat by telephone.
By the way, I just watched your video you did for Lori Feldman on the importance of having an unique service proposition. Nicely done.

Hi Michael, all good stuff — and thanks for all the detail. I am just running out the door, but I’ll be in touch either over the weekend or the beginning of next week.

Dear James and Arlene,
I would love to accept James wonderful coaching offer which I badly need it. However I’m not able to afford it at this stage. Can you please book me for the future coaching in about 3-6 months?
Although I have a website and I add fresh articles consistently my marketing skills are not good at all. I promote a few affiliate products but my income is almost 0 and due to the poor traffic my data base is not growing.
My website cost me considerable amount of money as I’m outsourcing a writer for my ongoing articles. I’m aware I need to build backlinks and distribute more articles to various directories, blogs and much more.
Due to my full time work as a Nurse and working night shifts my time is very limited so I would need some good and fast remedies to get me to a position where eventually I will start generating some income from my website.
I have learned from you and Arlene so much and thanks to you I was able to create the website I have.
With your membership and your lovely support I’m moving forward but I desperately need some constructive helping hand.
I look forward to your suggestion at your convenience
With my Sincere thanks,
Bozena
Hi James:
Looks like things are going well with both of you.
I met you at the System Seminar in Chicago 2009, sharing the Laga Handbags story, handbags made by tsunami survivors of Indonesia.
We were very fortunate that our Laga bags made it on the Oprah show April 13, 2010, and it was truly a miracle, we are still getting residuals from that show which is now playing in 140 countries.
We just launched an affiliate program, and don’t know much about them other than what I have read on your blog/newsletter.
I would like to see if there is a fit for your coaching program, I know that you are knowledgeable and that you most likely can enhance and expand what we are doing now.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon to schedule the 1/2 hour consultation.
Best wishes,
Roy Van Broekhuizen

Hey guys,
I am a loyal listener and soon a bootcamp member. I have purchased paula and wandas course based on your affiliate buzz, and will purchase yours, but i felt like yours was the master class and I have not had the money to invest yet but should be ready in sept/oct.
I have a concern about the podcast. Why have you named it the same name as Deborah Carney and Vinny’s show? It really confuses my music program on my blackberry and android. On itunes you are both Affiliate Marketing Podcast, not Affiliate Buzz anymore. I do listen to Carney and Ohare but your show is actually much better and they now get all mixed up in my blackberry and android since you are now the same name on itunes as their show.
Please help.
PS – You have saved me from another 8 months of no progress. My VA is now on track developing a thesis theme with thesis awesome skin review site. I will repay your free help of podcasts and answer book by enrolling in your classes. You guys are truly the first people to help me actually understand what ” a business with no customers” can be. We are going to be live on bluetoothcarstereoreviews by october and hopefully have our article writers done with 50 articles for the site and 50 for backlinking by 1st of november. All because of your podcast. I cannot wait to see what happens, when I, like the piano website guy, take your courses for myself and then send my va to them as well. The goodmon plumbing website mentioned above was my first site and we have put it on the sidelines to monetize a blog but will get back to it and make it better later. It was good to learn about wordpress on it though.

Hi there,
I need to work on MY search technique I think!!!
I’ve been listening to your podcasts and am interested in finding out more about the PAD technique…is there an ebook that goes into it in detail? Also, on one of your podcasts you mentioned some software that you’ve developed to help you keep track of articles and sites….I can’t find this either
Hi James and Arlene,
I’ve been listening to each of your podcasts (my husband thinks I’ve become addicted!) and one question I have is about ‘traditional article marketing’.
If Google frowns on traditional article marketing, i.e. sending the same article to oodles of sites all over the web with an automated tool, which Google quite rightly assumes is spam…what’s to stop a competitor sending out an article linking back to my site, which google sees as spam and slams me for it? Surely there must be some ‘safety net’ in there somewhere to stop sabotage? Any thoughts?
Hi,
in the PDF document “Backlink Instructional Series (PAD)”, you say that “..it must have a Google PageRank of 3 or above.”
Do you mean the index page of this site OR the page where my backlinks will recide?
Best regards,
Terje

A FREE 100+ HOUR COURSE FROM A SUPER AFFILIATE!
First of all, THANK YOU for posting such great content in your weekly podcasts. I am brand new to Affiliate Marketing and will be launching our first web site next month. I’m not sure if you realize it but when you listen to all of your hundreds of podcasts available for free, in effect you have a first class course of over 100 hours from yourselves – a Super Affiliate.
I listen to about 4 podcasts a day as I commute from Langley to Burnaby (Yes, I’m a local BC guy!) and by the time I get to work I am “pumped” with all of the great information I have received on the podcasts. I often pause them so that I can phone in to my voice mail system at work and leave myself a message as a reminder about something I have heard, or a web site to check out!
My daughter “discovered” affiliate marketing a couple of months ago because she wanted to work from home and recognized the countless benefits of an affiliate business. Through the great knowledge obtained from the podcasts and reading whenever and wherever I can, we will be launching a family business very soon. We are heavy into the planning phase and following the many recommendations you have made. One of the best was the Affiliate Organizer which quickly became a place to store all the details for our business.
Once again, THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge and being so willing to help. I will be signing up for your BootCamp course next January and we have set a goal to go to Affiliate Summit West in 2013! We know this will take a lot of work (with some failures along the way) but I know we will be successful with the great help and guidance from people like yourselves.
All the Best.
Hi Arlene,
Do you still offer software to help with the PAD program? I recently listened to an old Buzz podcast that talked about it.
Also, if I was looking to contract your team to develop 50 backlinks, what would the estimated cost be?
Last question, are there any ‘meetups’ planned or scheduled for Vancouver in the coming months? There’s nothing shown on the Affiliate Summit website.
Thanks, and I really am thankful for all of the free info you and James have made available.
Brian.
Hi Arlene,
One more question. When will the 2012 edition of the Handbook be available (or is it available now)?
Thanks.
Brian.
I have been online since 1998, as you expect I made almost $0 from my online work.
I need a real coach one-on-one to guide me through the way to get into online marketing successfully.
I can develop, I can create website, I have good hosting, I know how to do some on-site SEO. I know I am not that professional in all, but at least I know my way through that.
My main point of failure, how I promote that.
I do even have a site similar to groupon and it has some few traffic after months of seo outsourcing but still making no money at all.
I wonder if you still have the coaching program noting that I live in Egypt.
Waiting for your reply ASAP
