Coffee Talk with Ed Keay-Smith from OzDomainer.com
Listen as James Martell, natural search expert and the President of Net Guides Publishing Inc., sits down with Ed Keay-Smith, founder of AdwordsMarketing.com and OzDomainer.com, to discuss in depth the business of domaining.
Ed Keay-Smith is an expert in domain names and domaining. Ed lives in Australia and has been so successful in his industry that he is partaking in what he calls a “mini retirement” and taking time to travel the world with his family.
In this edition of Coffee Talk Smith shares with listeners all of the ins and outs of finding a domain name, the top three ways to make your name profitable, and the costly mistakes affiliates make when choosing a name.
Listen as Keay-Smith discusses in depth one costly mistake that affiliates often make when registering their domain name. “Do not, under any circumstances, register a domain name based on any company name or trademarks or anything like that. In today’s society of litigation, you are safest to stick with generic types of domain names that have no attachments.”
Keay-Smith also reveals to listeners the shocking difference in market value between .com and .net domain names. “Pizza.com was bought in 1994 for 20 dollars and sold recently for 2.6 million dollars at an auction. Pizza.net is for sale at just over 1 million dollars – .net is like the poorer cousin of the .com.”
So grab a hot cup of coffee and tune in. This edition of James Martell’s Coffee Talk is one that you simply can’t afford to miss!
