Easily Put Your ‘Thank You’ Page To Work To Increase Sales & Newsletter Sign-ups!

Therefore, what we need to do instead is to show gratitude through our words rather than our actions. The great thing about using thank you is that it will do wonders for your business as well.
I came upon this golden nugget of Internet marketing wisdom, when I was chatting with Joshua Sloan, Director of Online Marketing for 1 & 1 Hosting, which as many of you know is the world's largest and fastest-growing Web hosting company.
I always love chatting with Josh, because he is so gracious with his knowledge. He shared with me, as I will share with you, this little golden nugget that has helped increase my newsletter subscriptions as well as online sales. It is such a simple but profound idea that if I wasn't really paying attention I might have missed it.
So many of us direct our visitors to a 'thank you' page when they make a purchase or subscribe to our newsletter, which is important and crucial, but this is valuable real estate that can be put to better use.
Josh explained to me that at this point in the game, your customers have already decided that you offer value and have trusted you with their hard earned cash, so why not give them an additional offer at the same time? Simple but profound isn't it?
So, I decided to put Josh's little idea to the test. Sign-ups to my newsletter have been pretty good, but I have been wanting to increase subscriptions to my RSS feed.
What I simply did was to add an invitation on my thank you page for customers to subscribe to my RSS feed. And boy, did they ever! Adding this simple offer took only a few minutes but as you can see from the image provided, I instantly jumped from 2 to 3 subscribers a day, to 30 to 40 subscribers per day, just because I listened and acted upon the advice from Joshua.
So gentle reader, I highly encourage you to try this simple tip and add an offer to your 'thank you' page. You will see more subscribers and more sales because of this simple strategy. I'm almost certain. Hats off to you again, Joshua Sloan.

    Unsure how you can say that 1&1 is one of the best web hosts when they have so many complaints about awful service. They do not even offer Fantastico or CPanel to their users so that they can install blogs with ease.

    I used 1&1 for 2 years and was so unhappy I finally had to move all my sites to my favorite host...Host Gator. They are the most helpful host on the web.

    I wish you would stop telling newbies to use 1&1 as their record is terrible. Just type in customer service complaints and 1&1 and you will see what I mean.

      Thanks for your comment. You're right, and my apologize. It is time for an update.

      I do use 1&1 for their low cost domains, but I am no longer using them as I was for hosting. I have a couple sites hosted there, but I have moved most site to BlueHost.

      The main issue I have with 1&1 is their non-US-based technical support. It's obvious to me when I call their customer support reps are attempting to answer my questions by reading from a manual... and because of the language barrier they often have a hard time understanding even what my problem is.

      I don't have a concern that they use CPanel, because I do find their control panel easy to use and navigate.

      I do wish they offered Fantastico, but unfortunately they don't.

      PS - The information shared by Joshua Sloan in the article above on using your thank you page to drive additional sign-ups and sales is a great one though. I hope the promotion of 1&1 didn't taint it. It is a brilliant idea that anyone can act on. Joshua's also a great guy!
